Tweeting Cards

With this small project I was experimenting with giving digital social content a tangible form in order to reveal how tangibility creates meaning.
I think these “tweeting cards” (excuse the pun), create a clear illustration of how a mundane status update or tweet can take on greater meaning when it is manifest in a tangible and historically established medium of communication.
I’m testing the formula for creating meaning: Perception + Interaction, derived from my interpretation of chapter one in The Body Has a Mind of Its Own, by Sandra Blakeslee and Matthew Blakeslee.
Although this project was meant to be a commentary on digital social media, materiality and meaning, I’ve received frequent feedback from individuals who have no problem imagining an actual service that creates these cards as a consumer product.
